Reboot your system
The data transmission radio is just like all other electronics and sometimes needs a reboot. If your Internet has slowed down or is out completely, simply unplug the radio’s power supply (PoE) as shown in these photos. There are several different styles so refer to the photos on the left for help!
This will almost always be the first thing we’ll ask you to do when you contact us. It’s generally a good rule to reboot your system once a month.
It’s also extremely important that all of your equipment is plugged into a surge protector. Don’t have one? Our techs will have one for you to purchase.
Routers
Routers allow multiple devices to share an Internet connections, via wire or wireless.
If you purchased an AirCube router from us, we will program and troubleshoot any issues. If using another brand, we will do our best to assist or direct you to the manufacturer.
Routers typically have a short lifespan, and it’s suggested to replace those older than 5 years. To determine a faulty router, remove the ethernet cable from the back of your router and plug the cable directly into a computer. If the internet works, the router is bad.
Fine Tunes
The Genesis network operates on a point-to-point radio transmission. The antenna mounted on your home or business was ‘fine-tuned’ and tested for optimum bandwidth at the time of installation.
Heavy winds or other factors can, at times, cause antennas to shift at a broadcast tower or customer site. We’ll schedule a service call to restore service back to your optimum signal.
Bandwidth Options
Streaming and downloading will take as much bandwidth as possible. Lagging will occur when several devices are simultaneously using the Internet connection or when downloading large files, like a game or system update.
